Deepti Jain, the co-founder of OFTRI is having about 24 years’ experience in the field of ornamental fisheries.  She has been managing the commercial marketing unit of the firm mainly an aquarium retail outlet and large number of annual aquarium maintenance contracts at Udaipur. She is a certified skill development trainer of ornamental fisheries by National Skill Development Corporation, Ministry of Entrepreneur and Skill Development, Government of India. She has the credit of establishing two numbers of grade-III ornamental fish production units at Udaipur, Rajasthan that were the first in any inland state of the country funded by Marine Products Export Development Authority (Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India), Kochi. She also served as a “Master Trainer” in a MPEDA funded training programme on ornamental fisheries organized by Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur.  She also has the credit of establishing an “Aqua-one-center” at Udaipur with funding support of National Fisheries Development Board (Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare, Government of India), a new initiative of NFDB to support aquaculture development in the country.
